Palestine-Israel Issue & Muslim Block's Silence

Palestine-Israel Issue & Muslim Block’s Silence

The news about Palestine-isreal conflict crosses over my ears since childhood and the question of Muslim Block’s silence is also rotating in my mind, from so many years. I would not go into the history or detail about what, why, and how the conflict between Palestine and Isreal started and still going on, since decades. There are a lot of websites to inform you of the detailed history.

For me, the problem is the silence of Muslim countries, despite knowing the facts behind all this. A lot of terrible incidents of human rights violence happen in Palestine every day but the outside world barely registers them, as mentioned in New York Times article. Before going further into it. Let’s talk about the concept of Muslims being one Ummah.

We Muslims believe that we are the followers/Ummah of the Last Prophet, Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), and follow Islam, the true religion (Deen).

Based on this concept, every Muslim living in any part of the world is directly connected. According to Hadeeth, all Muslims are like one body. If any part of the body pains, the whole of it suffers and feels that pain.

The biggest problem is not about the issue itself. Rather, the problem is the silence of Muslim Block in the world, for decades.

I am not going on any technical or rocket-science level for how can we take steps in this case. However, I have some random thoughts to pour out here.

1. No individualism in Islam

First of all, every Muslim needs to remind himself/herself that Islam never preached about individualism. It is the religion that promotes collectivism. Here, from collectivism, I mean, that every Muslim needs not only to think about himself and his family. He has to think on the Ummah level.

2. Right Parenting Matters

Secondly, the training of every Muslim child on the principles of Islam is the responsibility of the parents. Family is the basic unit in a society. There is a big role of family structure in the construction or destruction of societies. So, for me, there isn’t any more complicated job in the world than parenting. There is no doubt in it that corrupt child psychology today is the biggest problem of the hour.

3. Importance of Reviving the History

Thirdly, book reading especially historical reading is vanishing from the interests of youth day by day. This habit must bring back by speaking about the importance of reading books and the history of different periods. As a Muslim, every young one must read about the Islamic Golden Era and those mistakes that lead to the downfall of the Muslims.

4. Power of Soial Media

Fourthly, the worth use of technology on social media platforms, where a person can write or speak about anything. What we do nowadays is only posting about memes, our daily life petty things, and other useless stuff mostly, that has nothing to do with anything. Instead, the people with a huge number of followers, in the Muslim community, must speak about the things that matter. Their voice on Muslim violence around the world can definitely make an impact.

5. Undersanding the Psychology Behind Islamic Commandments

Fifthly, there is a dire need that Muslims must know the psychology behind every act in Islam. For example, the Salah which is offered 5 times a day is a kind of strong signal to the mind and soul that yes, we owe everything to Allah. When we get up in the morning, we are commanded to praise Allah. At Dhuhr time, a person gets far busy in his business, job or studies, again comes the sound “Come to success”.

So, the idea is that at every point during the day, we are commanded to remember our Lord. In Islam, there is a proper psychological idea behind every command. I must mention here the point of fighting in the way of Allah. The fight is at every level for every Muslim, if a Muslim lives in the US, Brazil, Egypt, Pakistan, or any other place, there is a teaching for him to fight in the cause of Allah. At least, in this era of Fitnah, this condition applies to all of us. The psychology behind the Jihad is to ensure at least the protection of Muslims themselves and at the same time, we are commanded to stop evil.

6. Need of Self-Questioning and Self-Realization

Sixthly, I want to say one thing to be me and all of the Muslims. With the type of lives, we are living today and the suffering that they are bearing, the Palestinians and other Muslims being oppressed like The Kashmiri brothers, can we face the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H)? Think once again. We just can’t have the satisfaction from within and what we are doing with our Muslim brothers and sisters who were being treated miserably by the unbelievers.

I want to add in this point a Hadeeth of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H), that is, (meaning) ‘Stop the evil with your hand, if not possible then stop it with your tongue, and if that is not possible, then at least have a level of regret in your heart against the evil, and that is the weakest degree of faith.’ There is a caution, we must not hide behind the words, “Have a level of regret in your heart against the evil”.

7. Every Drop of Ocean Matters

Seventhly, it doesn’t matter whether is Muslim possesses an impactful social, political, philosophical, or religious position in a society or not, raise your voice in your own capacity. The drop matters in making an ocean. Every brick matters in constructing a building. Know the importance of yourself as a single unity in the whole universe. History is full of the names of those who brought huge impacts on the world, by taking a start on the individual level.

8. Muslim Block’s SlienceWhy?

In the last, I would retouch the concept of the silence of Muslim block that in all the above seven points, the main thing highlighted is the lack of realization. About what? It’s about the fact that we, as Muslims, know that in how much downfall are we going, despite knowing all these problems.
