The cosmos is never silent. Everything vibrates with frequencies of usable energy. Everything, from galaxies down to the simplest atom, vibrates differently. Human emotions vibrate, too! Thoughts and feelings in humans are possible because we create subtle waves of energy. These subtle waves make interaction with the surrounding universe distinctively reserved for humans.
The Unseen Language of Vibrations
Modern-day science supports this hidden language. As described above in quantum science, all things are energy and moving patterns of energy. Even solid objects vibrate to a certain extent; unfortunately, our eyes can’t see them. The human brain capacity actually produces literally hundreds of patterns of electrical energy called brain waves. Each brainwave demonstrates a specific state, so calmness is reflected in brain wave activity, typically called alpha waves, whereas stress has been correlated with a higher frequency brain wave. So, emotions should not just be treated as ideas or concepts. Hence, each emotion is a pattern of energy that can be scientifically measured and resonates with consciousness.
Did You Know?
Did you know the human heart produces an electromagnetic field? This field extends several feet beyond the body. Research has shown that love strengthens this field. Anger and stress greatly weaken it. Feelings resonate out into the space surrounding you. Other people can subconsciously detect what is inside you, even if you are not communicating with them verbally.
Resonance between Human Beings and the Universe
Resonance occurs when two frequencies harmonize. Consider the phenomenon of a guitar string resonating with another guitar string without you physically touching it. Similarly, the human emotional field resonates with the patterning of the cosmos. Mostly, positive emotional states match the harmonic frequency of the universe, while negative emotional states create imbalances and noise within the self. The universe “responds” to the moods of human beings.

Scientific Findings
Modern-day research has confirmed. The Global Consciousness Project collects data from random number generators worldwide. During moments of emotion on a world scale, these generators record abnormal windstorms of data. Following the events of September 11, they recorded very pronounced changes. Upon review of the data, the scientists concluded that collective human emotions influence such machines. They assert that human consciousness interacts with energy fields. NASA also collected, or recorded, planetary “sounds.” These collective vibrations were even noted to sometimes form musical scales.

The Quranic Connection
Islam details this resonance beautifully. Allah states: “There is no creation that does not glorify Him with praise.” (17:44). This means all of creation vibrates in remembrance of Allah, and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The rocks used to greet me before my Prophethood.” (Muslim). Even non-living matter has a degree of awareness. As such, human emotions bind us to the worship of the universe. Our internal world resounds with creation.
Real-Life Reflection
Imagine a person who always complains. Being around them is burdensome. Negative energy is contagious, like smoke that cannot be seen. Now consider someone who is always grateful. Their energy is dense with lightness and buoyancy. Gratitude creates a channel for blessings in a person’s life. The Quran states, “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.” (14:7) Gratitude is the vibration of human energy that is attuned with the Divine frequency.
Did You Know?
Did you know that people emit light? Scientists refer to this as biophotons. The light is very weak, but it also shifts with emotions. So we do not emit as much light when we are experiencing stress, while joy creates a brighter light. People literally shine differently, depending on their emotional state.
Psychology and Emotions
Psychologists have found that emotions can spread. This phenomenon is called emotional contagion, which means that one person’s emotional state will affect other people nearby. Laughter will spread amongst groups of people. Fear can paralyze a crowd. The vibrations of emotion create contagious energetics. Mindfulness practices are based on emotional contagion. The peaceful vibrations we create through calming breaths create various types of healing vibrations. Calming breath decreases anxiety and builds our own vibrational well-being.
Islamic Psychology of the Heart
Islamic scholarship has always emphasized the heart. Ibn al-Ghazali, for example, states that the heart is the locus of our reality, the glimpsed unseen. When the heart is pure, it connects us to Divine light and can also connect us to harmful vibrations. The Quran says, “Except one who comes with a sound heart.” (26:88-89). Healing emotions manifests purifying vibrations. A sound heart can resound with universal harmonics.
Resonance and Prayer
Salah produces immense vibration. The recitation of Quranic verses has cadence and tone. The subsequent movements embed the body with the soul. Studies show the benefits of reciting Quranic verses on stress hormones. In a circle of worship, worshippers synchronize heartbeats. Prayer harmonizes human energy with universal order. Tasbeeh brings the same benefits. Whenever we repeat the names of Allah, we create frequency that calms ourselves. Remembering Allah only resonates with the worship of the universe.
In Case You Didn’t Know
Did you know the Earth has a heartbeat? Scientists call it Schumann Resonance. The earth drum beats at 7.83 hertz. Surprisingly, meditative brainwaves operate at the same frequency. In stillness, the collective experience leads to bodily synchronicity between human and earth energy.

A Case from Islamic History
There were greater numbers of the enemy during the Battle of Badr; yet Allah infused the hearts of the Muslims with strength. Quran states: “Allah was sure to make your hearts firm.” (8:11). That inner firm strength produced group resonance. Fear became strength into courage. Their spheres of vibration with the vibrations of both faith and fear produced an influence on the outcome of the battle.

Healing Through Cosmic Resonance
Peaceful emotions create harmony. Angry emotions create chaos. Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved deeds to Allah are the ones that are done consistently.” (Bukhari). Consistency creates steady vibrations. Gratitude, patience, and trust cleanse the aura inside us. These qualities harmonize us with the universal truth.
Did You Know?
Did you know that trees respond to voices? In experiments, plants grow better when spoken to lovingly, while plants grow the least with negative speech. Vibrations affect creation’s invisible vibrations, even if it is silent.
The Bigger picture
The universe is a cosmic symphony. Everything from atoms to stars to hearts plays a note. Humanity imbues the music with faith. Islam teaches tawheed—oneness under Allah. Tawheed includes emotional harmony with the cosmos.
Summary
Cosmic resonance is real and powerful. We have emotions that vibrate and ripple into the air, into the universe. Science tells us we have energy fields. Islam shows us how vibrations are related through gratitude, positive remembrance, and growth. Everything we think matters. Every prayer we make resonates. Every feeling we transmit influences creation. Choose to speak peace instead of creating anger. Initialize with gratitude instead of complaints. Once aligned with Divine harmony, we vibrate in resonance with the universe. This is where true peace exists.
